any hardware store–and sometimes they have those felt discs at the grocery store–in the hardware section…
A local hardware store should carry felt discs that peel and stick to the bottom of chair legs. I can state that the peel and stick works for a while but will come off if they get wet too often. I just applied a little strong glue, like Krazy glue, and they haven’t come off since. Just make sure you measure the width of your chair legs as they do come in different sizes.
Walmart- they have packages of different sizes of sticky felt just for that purpose.
bed bath and beyond. I used to work there. they have many sizes
I wouldn’t recommend felt pads. There are hard plastic discs that have a nail in the center. You pound them into the bottom of the legs and they won’t scratch your floors and they won’t come off. Most discount places that sell any kind of furniture will probably have them. Just ask.
They’re called Furniture Glides and are available at any hardware store or discount retailer. Because you have hardwood floors, you don’t want the ones that have a metal or plastic bottom because they can grind any dirt or grit into the surface. Magic Sliders are great on carpet, but not on wood or laminate flooring. The kind with carpet or felt on the bottom are recommended because they will slide without scratching. Adhesive won’t work for very long to hold them on, either, so if your chairs are wood, you should get the ones with a nail or screw attached. A good idea is to predrill a hole that is smaller than the nail in the bottom of each leg so they go in straight without bending over.
Put “furniture glides” in your search engine and you should be able to find them pretty easily, but the best bet is probably http://homedepot.com or http://lowes.com. and get a name brand like Shepherd. But a hardware store or supermarket should have ‘em, too.
