I purchased a dining room set from an estate sale a few days ago.. When I went to look at it, it was in a barn, I didn’t realize it smelled like cigarette smoke, urghhhh… I really love the set, but hate my house smelling like this! Any ideas? I was thinking of maybe spraying the upholstery with a water/vinegar solution. What are your thoughts?

Fabreeze the heck out of them. Let them set out side if possible, this is the best way to “clean” them out. You can get them steam cleaned or do it yourself.

Try steaming the upholstery. Steaming is known to be a great natural deodorizer, but it won’t clean any visible stains. Be careful to cover/avoid the wood parts (assuming that’s what the furniture is made of) so that the steam doesn’t damage them. After you’ve steamed everything and it has dried, you can spritz some Febreze on it to cover any residual odors.
