doesn’t matter to me in the least whether stuff like that matches. as long as i think it looks good i’ll put it together….

It doesn’t matter at all especially in today’s decor. Matchy matchy is the decorators boo boo in todays style.
Well it would look a little odd.
Especially if the chairs and table are very mismatched (if they are close it might look ok)
You can of course put a table cloth on the table and then it won’t matter.
You might get away with a mismatch if the room has a wooden floor and then you have several different woods contrasting together.

A combination like this works especially well with a farmhouse table…especially if the chairs also have a farmhouse feel. No worriies!!!
