Hello all.
Last year we had our dinning room re-done we recently purchased a new dining room set where the back of the chairs are higher than the chair rail. We really don’t want take down the chair rails, repaint. Does any one know of a site that sells padded ‘guards’ that we can put on the back of our chairs to protect the wall? thanks all.
The back of the chairs are about 7 inches higher then the current chair rail.

Why not make padded covers for the backs of the chairs, either w. matching seat covers or in a fabric that complements the seats. Adding guards will look tacky and ruin the line of the chair. At least the covers will look like an intentional design decision.

If there is only an inch or two try adding to the top of the chair rail with another larger piece of trim ensuring it will blend well with what is there.
